Gambling Age!

On June 17th I turned the big TWO ONE! It was quite a full day. We were supposed to meet the Gray family for breakfast at the Santa Fe buffet, but due to car issues we did not make it in time to eat with them. Instead, my mom, Kayleigh, Ida and myself had a fantastic breakfast. Kayleigh even hit up the ice cream machine!

Next, all of us girls went shopping at Down East Outfitters and Anthropologie! After that I went home to get ready for my hot date with my husband. He took me to Serendipity 3 (my favorite restaurant)!

I had grilled cheese and tomato soup. Yum. We also enjoyed a very large frozen hot chocolate.

We then made our way to the new (ish) Smith Center to see The Book of Mormon musical, which we found hilarious. (Don't judge us.)

It was a great night!

I Want My Mommy

When my cousins and I were young and cried for our moms, my grandma Ida would sing to us, "I want my mommy, oh yes I do. I want my mommy, I want her now. Bring me my mommy, bring her right here. Bring me my mommy or I will cry." Yesterday was the first time I felt like my little Ida needed her mommy instead if just anyone.

My mom was holding Ida and she would not stop crying no matter what her grandma did. My mom finally said, "Do you want to try?" So I took my baby and held her close and bounced her. She calmed down quickly. It is nice to feel needed and loved by my little girl.

VIP

We received a very pleasant surprise in the mail the other day. Ida Jane had a whole Monrovia City Council meeting held in her honor! I don't know many babies who can boast that!

Our Ida is the name sake of my Grandma Ida Beth Smith. Ida Beth worked for the city of Monrovia for many years and she touched many peoples' lives. Ida Jane is so lucky to be named after such an amazing woman. I can't wait to show her this certificate and tell her all about her lovely great grandmother.

The Poop Shoot

When Ida was about a week old, our friend Brooke Mack helped us take some newborn photos. She is talented and they came out marvelously. Ida did well until she started pooping on everyone. The only person not pooped on was our lovely photographer. Lucky girl.

And without further adieu, the only evidence of the poop was while dear ole mom was holding her.
